RSVP for NYCoRE’s November Meeting

In the political education component of November’s member meeting, we will be using Freirean Culture Circles as a way to understand current events in racial justice and education, from the assault of Shakara at Spring Valley High to the student organizing at Mizzou. We’ll be analyzing how these events connect to their root causes as well as move toward action.

In order to put our discussion in historical context, please read the article “South Carolina Video is the Latest Example of Policing Black Girls in America’s Schools” before the meeting. Click here for a link to the article.

The meeting will follow our new time frame:

5:30 – 5:45 – Dinner & Conversation

5:45 – 6:45 – Political Education

6:45 – 6:50 – Healing Activity

7:40 – 7:50 – Working Group Share out

7:50 – 8:00 – Announcements and Closing
